Arrivals and Departures Stories on Hello Goodbye from CBC

January 4, 2016 by Anne-Marie Marais Leave a Comment

I’ve always felt that Arrivals at the airport is one of the happiest places on Earth and Departures, even though hopeful for new adventures, can be one of the saddest as we bid farewell to friends and family.

Even in movies like Love Actually (click link to see video) we’ve heard Hugh Grant talk about the arrivals and departures at LHR (London Heathrow) and all the love that you see as friends and family arrive.

Tobermory: Dazzled by blue waters

Bruce Pennisula National Park

Before I took a trip to Tobermory recently, I thought that certain shades of blue only existed in photos of the Caribbean or South Pacific after they were put through photoshop. Or that the orange in a Lake Huron sunset was just a colour choice on a paint colour palette. But I was wrong. Thanks YVR

The first stage of my journey downunder is coming to an end as I sit and await my flight to Sydney at YVR. Vancouver has been great. It’s been sun and warm every day. But I guess it’s always like that here….Don’t think so. I’ve been lucky.

It’s been a great couple of days of seeing friends and have a good old “chin wag” as one friend called it. Thanks to Andrew, Stephanie, Ada, Hoa, Thelma, Lindsay, Roni, Drake and my new little friend Chloe. Plus any other new friends I made along the way.

I was luck enough to have great hosts, The McLean’s at their B&BLD. What a great place. Highly recommend. Thanks for living within a 10 minute walk of my favourite place, Granville Island. As you can see by the smile on my face, I love it there.
